Pensacola Beach, FL

Pensacola Beach is perhaps Florida's most beautiful family friendly vacation destination.It is not as well known as Destin but just as pretty and much less crowded. This charming little beach town is just big enough to have half a dozen good restaurants and offers night life and shopping. The beach is wide and uncrowded in most areas due to the residential nature of this location. Historic Ft Pickens is a must see on the west end and  Gulf Islands National Seashore's eighteen mile drive to Navarre Beach is truly one of the best in the state.

The town of Pensacola has a fascinating history and many things to see and enjoy. Many people don't know that the Spanish landed in Pensacola first but had to evacuate before the settlement grew into a city. They returned and landed on the east coast known as St Augustine and formed the first city in America. Downtown Palafox Street is very popular featuring dining, shopping and night life. This area is family friendly and safe in the evenings for pedestrian browsing. The National Naval Aviation Museum is one of the best in the country and is worth spending time there.
